Entrepreneur, writer and business man Seth Godin wrote this blog :
‘I bought the diet book, but ate my usual foods.’
‘I filled the prescription, but didn’t take the meds.’
‘I took the course…well, I watched the videos…but I didn’t do the exercises.’
Merely looking at something almost never causes change. Tourism is fun, but rarely transformative.
If it was easy, you would have already achieved the change you seek.
Change comes from new habits, from acting as if, from experiencing the inevitable discomfort of becoming.”
Did you get that? change comes from acting. A tourist is someone who drops in and has a look around, but they are not committed to the place. Are you a Fresh Freestyle Tourist? You bought the book, looked at the photos, read the pages…then did the practices? I hope you did. If you want improvement, if you want something different with swimming, to experience effortless swimming, get faster and more efficient, it will take some action from you.
Suzanne, Dinah and I have given you the practices, take action by putting them into practice.
Be a full on Freshie, not a Tourist! And if you are a Full on Freshie-Cool! Keep us in the know with how you are doing. Thanks!
